Our Services

We provide speech and occupational therapy services to children from birth - age 21 who require help in various areas of their development by providing consultation, comprehensive screenings and evaluations, and evidence-based treatment.  

Our service delivery model includes providing therapy services in our office, the child’s home environment, daycare facilities, preschools, or in the private school setting.

Speech Therapy

Aims to help children produce age-appropriate speech sounds and develop functional language skills.

Our skilled speech therapists are licensed and trained to assess and treat the communication and feeding challenges associated with the following:

  • Childhood Apraxia of Speech

Feeding Therapy

Aims to help children achieve optimal and safe feeding and swallowing skills necessary for maximizing nutritional intake and a child’s ability to thrive.

Our skilled speech therapists are licensed and trained to assess and treat the following feeding and swallowing challenges:

  • Cleft Lip / Palate

  • Non-verbal communication and related disorders

  • Oral Motor Weakness

  • Stuttering

  • Swallowing disorders

  • Tongue tie

  • Lip tie

Occupational Therapy

Aims to help children develop fine motor, sensory motor, and visual motor skills to complete daily tasks.

Our skilled occupational therapists are licensed and trained to assess and address the following:

  • Activities of daily living skills 

  • Adaptability skills

  • Fine motor skills

  • Gross motor skills

  • Sensory Processing skills

Joy in the Journey proudly accepts South Carolina Medicaid, SC BabyNet, and a variety of private insurance plans. Note: TRICARE and BCBS are billable.
